What is Ticket Transfer and how does it work?
Ticket Transfer is a Ticketmaster feature that allows you to safely and completely free of charge send some or all of your tickets to another person.
You can transfer some or all of your tickets to another person from the Ticketmaster app or from Ticketmaster.com.mx, as long as transfers are available for your event.
The person who receives the tickets can accept them in their Ticketmaster account and use them to enter the event.
Choose where you want to make the transfer and follow the steps.
-
- Open the Ticketmaster app and sign in to your account.
- Go to My Tickets and select the order that contains the tickets you want to send.
- Tap Transfer.
- You’ll receive a one-time code by text message (SMS). Enter it and select Confirm to continue.
- Select the tickets you want to send and tap Transfer to.
- Enter the email address or phone number of the person who will receive the tickets. You can also add an optional message.
- Tap Transfer Tickets to continue with the sending process.
If you send the invitation by SMS: A text message with the link to accept the tickets will appear. Tap Send to share it with the recipient.
If you use an email address: The invitation with the link to accept the tickets will be sent to the address you entered.
What should I do if I don’t receive the confirmation code?
If the first code doesn’t work, wait 30 seconds without leaving the screen and select Request a new one.

Once you send the invitation, the tickets will appear as sent in your account.
When the person accepts the transfer:
- You’ll receive an email confirming that the tickets were accepted.
- The transferred tickets will no longer be valid for entry to the event from your account.
- The person who received them will have new valid barcodes for entry.
Important: Once the person accepts the transfer, you won’t be able to cancel it. If you need to recover your tickets, you’ll have to ask the person to transfer them back to your account, as long as the transfer feature is still available.
You can see How do I check the status of a transfer? to find out whether your tickets have already been accepted.
Yes, as long as the event organizer has enabled transfers for those products.
To transfer them from Ticketmaster.com.mx:
- Sign in to your Ticketmaster account.
- Find your order in My Tickets.
- In the My Add-ons section, click Transfer.
- Select the items you want to send. If any item appears grayed out, it means it isn’t eligible for transfer.
- Enter the recipient’s information and, if you’d like, add a message.
- Review the information and click Confirm.
- If you want to send another item, select Transfer another add-on.
Once the recipient accepts the transfer, you’ll receive a confirmation by email, and the item will no longer be valid for use from your account.
Important: TicketProtector is not transferable, and its coverage doesn’t apply to transferred tickets.
If the Transfer option doesn’t appear, is disabled, or you’re having trouble completing the transfer, see I can’t transfer my tickets: What should I do? to find a solution based on your situation.
Can all tickets be transferred?
Not all events or ticket types allow transfers. Some shows have organizer rules or restrictions that prevent them.
If your tickets are eligible, you’ll find the Transfer option in your order under My Tickets.
For some events, this feature may be enabled closer to the event date.
Do I have to transfer all my tickets?
No. You can transfer anywhere from a single ticket to all of your tickets, as long as they’re eligible for transfer.
Tickets you don’t transfer will remain in your account.
Is it free to transfer tickets?
Yes! Ticket Transfer is completely free. Ticketmaster doesn’t charge any fees to transfer tickets or change a name.
Can I transfer tickets that someone else transferred to me?
Yes. Once you accept the tickets, you can transfer them to another person, as long as the transfer feature is still available for those tickets.
